You don’t have to arrive with one neat problem.
What brings you here may not fit into a single box. Most people recognize themselves in more than one place. Here, you’ll find compassionate support for trauma, anxiety, self-criticism, relationship struggles, and the patterns that keep you feeling stuck—each reflecting a different way a nervous system learns to survive and relate.
The patterns that bring you to therapy didn’t appear by accident—they formed in response to real experiences. I provide compassionate, nervous-system informed therapy in NW Calgary for trauma, anxiety, and the ways survival shows up in your life, helping you gently reconnect with yourself and create change that lasts.
Most people don’t come to therapy with just one “issue.” Anxiety, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-criticism, relationship struggles, and difficulty setting boundaries often overlap. They tend to grow from the same place: a nervous system that learned how to stay safe in uncertain or overwhelming situations.
To make this easier to navigate, these areas are loosely grouped into two categories:
These focus on how your body learned to stay on alert—through trauma, anxiety, and the ways your system adapted to cope with stress, including perfectionism and people-pleasing. What may look like “overthinking” or “trying too hard” often began as a way to stay safe, connected, or in control.
These focus on how survival shaped your sense of self and your relationships—through attachment wounds, self-criticism, and difficulty having needs, boundaries, or trust in connection.
You don’t have to figure out where you “belong.” Many people recognize themselves in more than one place. These groupings are simply a guide. We begin wherever something feels familiar and let your system lead the way.
When your system is still living as though danger is present.
When your body stays on alert, even when life looks “fine.”
When survival shows up as striving, over-functioning, or self-abandonment.
When closeness feels risky and connection carries fear.
When protection turns inward and your own voice becomes harsh.
When having needs and limits doesn’t yet feel safe.
These areas reflect different ways survival shows up in our lives. You may recognize yourself in one—or in many. You’re welcome to begin wherever something feels familiar.
It’s important to me that we start building our therapeutic relationship in our first meeting. We will explore any previous experience with Counselling—what worked for you and what you’d like to change. I will guide you in helping me learn more about you and the people who support and love you. Together, we’ll discuss your hopes for your Counselling journey and how I might support you.
The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Therapy is an ongoing process, and I will work with you to determine the appropriate length of treatment.
Therapy can be beneficial for anyone seeking to improve their mental health, manage emotional difficulties, or work through personal challenges. If you are uncertain, I offer free consultations to help determine if my services are a good fit for you.
My rate is $235 for a 60-minute session. I understand that financial situations can vary, so I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to make therapy more accessible. While this option is based on financial need, please note that it is not guaranteed for everyone and depends on my current availability for sliding scale clients. If you’re interested, we can discuss this further during our consultation to explore what might be possible.
At this time, I do not offer direct billing, but I will provide a formal receipt for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
You’re welcome to pay for sessions by e-transfer or credit card. If you choose to pay by credit card, a 3% processing fee will be added to each transaction.
Payment is due at the time of your session, and a receipt will be provided for insurance reimbursement if needed.
Life happens, and sometimes plans need to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made between 48 and 24 hours before your appointment will be charged half the session fee.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will be charged the full session fee.
This policy allows me to offer that time to another client who may be waiting for an appointment.
